Ms. Sharon is extremely thorough in making sure her students not only know how to play the violin, but music education as well. My kids are now good with reading notes, they know the parts of the violin, and how to read music. I think this is essential for a solid foundation especially at such a young age. Ms. Sharon always pushes them to do their best.

My experience with Ms.Sharon has been, and is continuing to be valuable and amazing. Ms.Sharon is a serious violinist who commits a lot of her time to violin, and teaching other people. Ms.Sharon teaches based upon your skill level, so if you are a beginner, you won’t feel too overwhelmed, but if you are an advanced student, then you will be paced accordingly. A great thing about Ms.Sharon is that she puts all her effort into teaching her students and is committed to making wonderful violinists out of all the students that she teaches. Ms.Sharon uses the Suzuki method, and incorporates other methods into our learning as well, such as the Fiddle Rhythms and Fiddle Magic book by Sally O’Reilly, the Sitt and Mazas Etudes, scale exercises, etc. At the advanced level, students learn concertos, unaccompanied Bach, advanced etudes, Paganini Caprices, etc. Ms.Sharon is a teacher that prepares students who are going to play violin in college, but anyone is welcome in her studio. You don’t necessarily have to go into music to join her studio; even people who play violin as a hobby or a passion can join. Ms.Sharon teaches online for most of the year, however, students can come in person during the summer and fall. Ms.Sharon teaches many methods/tricks to enhance our violin playing the best we can (such as playing pieces with different rhythms, then coming back to the original rhythm feeling easier than before). Ms.Sharon gives us opportunities to play in a recital every month so we can become comfortable performing in front of a crowd. Parents, friends, and family are all welcome to watch. Ms.Sharon gives us opportunities to play in masterclasses with professional violinists and violin professors from all across the nation, which is an extremely rare and valuable experience that not many people will get. She also gives us advice from other professional musicians, some of whom she has worked with, which means that we receive information from various types of people, allowing us to have a broader understanding of violin playing and its intricacies. Overall, Ms.Sharon is a kind person and she cares about all of us A LOT! She is an amazing teacher and has helped me out so much, and I have seen tons of improvement in myself after joining her studio.

Sharon is detail oriented. She does not hesitate to point out areas of improvement according to the level of proficiency of the student; nor does she hesitate to complement when the student's practice comes together to produce a memorable performance.

Sharon had been an excellent violin teacher, mentor and collaborator. She helped develop our child’s artistic, academic and social emotional skills. Sharon has been instrumental in preparing our child for college auditions, helping us make contacts and meeting all the requirements. After one of the auditions, the professor asked who our violin teacher was and promptly inquired about hiring Sharon to teach her own children. That is a strong endorsement of Sharon’s skills. Sharon is an excellent teacher and an amazing person in general! She is an inspiration and she inspires her students to be dedicated to their practice of the violin. Her no-nonsense attitude, and strict schedule drew me to her. Her monthly recitals, and her encouragement to get her students to participate, helped my daughter to overcome her performance anxiety and grow some confidence. Her emphasis on daily practice is the most important thing for any child to incorporate into their growth, to become a better musician, and we’re very lucky to have her in our lives.

I am an adult professional violinist. Sharon knows her craft SO WELL..she is able to immediatly 'diagnose' a "technical" problem which is WHY I decided to take lessons...again--- at 71. . Every student in her studio is treated with the UTMOST of respect! She provides lots of encouragement...has sends her students (me included) wonderful recordings and videos so 'we' can observe "GREATS' !
