About Corey
I'm a 200 hour RYT with over 2500 hours of teaching experience. I'm also certified to teach Chair Yoga and Restorative Yoga. I'm currently training for a Specialized Low Back Certification.
With over 12 years of teaching experience I've learned to modify poses, use props (& and sense of humor) to make yoga accessible for everyone! I love working with the 50+ population - you are my peeps!
My style of teaching leans toward a more therapeutic, adaptive style that helps my students increase their strength, improve range of motion, relieve pain and tension and listen deeply to the messages of their body.
I am currently accepting private yoga students on Tues/Wed/Thurs between the hours of 11-2.

I am in awe of the human body and I LOVE anatomy! So when a student arrives with a particular discomfort or chronic issue I get excited about exploring options that will bring relief. I am forever researching and learning to better serve my students.
I started teaching the same week I started yoga teacher training (YTT)... in the office of a chiropractor. My YTT was in power yoga and geared toward fit individuals. My first students could not do that level of yoga. So from day one I have taught beginners and I learned to modify yoga poses and sequences to meet the beginning yoga student.

The first couple of sessions are all about you getting comfortable with me and my style of teaching and me learning about your body: how it moves, where it hurts, your strength and flexibility level, etc. From there we start to build a sequence that we will work on for several weeks to build familiarity and strength. Then we'll change it up with a new sequence customized for your body and your life.
I love making yoga accessible to people who think they can't do yoga. I tend to attact yoga students who are mid-lifers (40+), beginners and people who have injuries or chronic issues from daily life.
Find a teacher who you resonate with! There are a lot of teachers in our area - we live in a bit of a Yoga Mecca. Don't give up on yoga because you didn't like the teacher. Keep searching and find someone who will help you learn to listen more deeply to the messages of your body.
An additional event that I offer my students is
108 Peace Chants on the Solstices
We gather as a community and send a peace chant out into the world and set intentions for our own personal or spiritual growth. Then we socialize. It's a great way to build community and get to know other students.
