About Shirley
My classical training in the UK with the late patron Peter Brook gave me the intensive grounding for my art. My 30-year experience in the industry has given me insightful methods and creative ways to work with actors in an honest, yet down-to-earth manner.
My work has taken me all over the world, with acting, (working with many known actors) directing, and producing. Writing my plays, to directing at many top theatres including the Lyceum, Hippodrome, Rose Theatre, UK, and many in New York.
I provide sessions :
Coaching for Film and TV, with a new interactive method that creates an authentic level of understanding and acting.
Gain a deeper level of character building finding the connections.
Learn how to find freedom in your instincts and be authentic.
What hidden things to look out for in a script before the auditions
Using an interrogation process of character and structure.
Build confidence and be responsive to the business of acting.

I base my teaching method on the individual with an ability to assist with confidence building and gaining comfortability within oneself. The rest follows with plenty of interaction and supportive suggestions to work on your needs. Using some of the newest insightful methods to enhance your authentic self to get a deeper level of understanding in character building. I will be providing various tools that will enhance your instincts, learn to adapt and gain a professional self-tape method.

Shirley is not only experienced as an acting coach, she is simultaneously patient yet firm in her approach to make you a better actor AND a person. She is kind, funny, and pushes you out of your comfort zone to guarantee results. She has helped me excel in acting and is extremely generous as well. She will forever be a good friend and I recommend her to anyone who wants to take their acting to the next level!
A truly talented, insightful, skilled and dynamic acting tutor/coach.
