About Emma
I’m currently in my final year of studying English Language at Newcastle University, with the plan to complete a PGCE (teaching qualification) after graduation.
I have previously studied English Language, Sociology and English Literature at A Level, as well as additional courses through the Open University which includes an introduction to child psychology, advanced poetry and reasonings into youth crime and deviance.
I have provided a lot of guidance and materials for my younger sister who sat her GCSEs towards the back end of the COVID 19 pandemic, and she was successful during her exams!
I have always found exams extremely overwhelming and am totally aware that it is a mentally challenging period; this will of course be accounted for throughout my sessions and I offer a safe space for any questions or to seek any advice! We can do absolutely anything we put our minds to!

My main aim for lessons is to provide individually tailored interactive material personalised for each learner! I have a full understanding of different kind of learning strategies and am more than happy to tailor to which ever suits you!
Generally my structure for GCSE English literature sessions cover annotations of key themes/characters within the studies texts, as well as annotating essay questions which will allow students to become familiar with how the question looks, and what it is actually asking! I will also work with you to create a large variety of essay plans, as well as other useful revision materials.
English language is my main passion and I’m currently conducting a dissertation into how language and regional variation interact with each other! My language sessions can be tailored for both GCSE and A Levels, covering important topics, how to structure an answer to a question, as well as personalised revision materials we will build together. For A Level specifically, I provide knowledge and advice surrounding coursework and how to go about researching you’re own topic or creating your own creative writing piece (I know this can be extremely overwhelming!)
I am more than happy to help out with personal statements and university applications too!
