My typical approach is to tailor tutorials to the needs of the individual student. Generally, the beginning of the lesson will cover theory. Next, we will move on to worked examples, and finally set questions to assess the understanding of the student and clear up any confusion. Typically, tutorials will be 1 hour long.
I have experience tutoring students from ages 11 to 18 years old.
