About Amy
I am a recent graduate from Newcastle University with a First class degree in Modern Languages (Spanish and Portuguese) with Translation and Interpreting, giving me an in depth knowledge of Spanish grammar. I also achieved an A* at both A level and GCSE Spanish. I have a TEFL qualification and have four months of teaching experience at an English academy in Spain where I taught ages 6-18 for one on one classes as well as larger full group classes. I also have one on one paid Spanish tutoring experience. In addition, I recently went on a 5 month university study exchange in Brasil. I have also had lots of experience working with young people in my past employment at an English language school in the centre of Leeds and as a Student Ambassador for my University. I am DBS checked.

I can tutor secondary school and A-level Spanish. I can explain all grammar structures and help students work through any exercises. I can improve writing style and help to correct and improve errors in the language. I can give spoken conversation practice, it is especially important for me that the student feels comfortable and not embarrassed about making errors because this is the best way to improve. Creating a friendly relaxed atmosphere with no pressure to be perfect the first time is what I believe is perfect to learn a language.

Perfect! Amy has been an brilliant teacher throughout my time studying with her.
I'm very new to Spanish so, as a result, there have been a wide variety of topics covered. Each have been taught with patience, thoughtfulness and clarity.
Amy is engaging and always goes the extra mile to explain the intricacies of Spanish whilst smiling the for the duration.

Amy is a great Spanish tutor. She has a deep knowledge of the language and is always positive, encouraging and engaging.
Learning Spanish with Amy is great fun. Not only is she knowledgeable about the language, but she also has a really good grasp of the local differences and what it's like to actually use the language, beyond just learning it from the books. Her enthusiasm for the language and culture is infectious and she has really helped me get the best out of our sessions.
I would recommend Amy because of her calm and friendly nature. She has thorough knowledge of Spanish grammar and has developed her strong speaking skills after living in Spain. She is a wonderful tutor.
