About Courtney
My passion has always been supporting people and learning, I was a teaching assistant in primary and secondary schools for 3 years and worked closely with children that had many different types of special educational needs. Coming from a family where all my younger siblings have special educational needs, I'm well very versed in helping people and having patience and good communication skills. Also, im very creative and will adopt different styles, techniques and ways of teaching to improve and solidfy engagement!
I am a first-class Spanish and International Relations university graduate who graduated from the University of Westminster in 2019. I have first-hand experience of the Spanish language as I lived in Spain for 6 years during my childhood and went to a Spanish speaking school so I am proficient in the Spanish language. I have been a Learning Support Assistant in a primary and secondary school for the past 3 and a half years so I am well versed in teaching and giving individual classes. During my time working in a secondary school, I was mainly based in English Literature and English Language lessons. I have created numerous resources for this subject and have released 3 different revision guides and 3 different workbooks. One workbook and revision guide for: An Inspector Calls, Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde and Macbeth.

My teaching method depends on what type of learner you are and what topics you think you need support in. I would spend our first lesson getting to know what type of learner you are (e.g visual, oral, text-based, etc.) and accommodate my teaching style to this as it is the best way to learn. Once we have established this, it is just teaching and recapping over previous work so that information is retained. I am happy to teach beginners, KS1, KS2, KS3 and GCSE level students.
