• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I teach IELTS, Spoken English, and NAATI, all of which are essential for individuals aiming to study, work, or settle abroad-particularly in English-speaking countries.
  
  IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a globally recognized exam that tests English proficiency for academic and immigration purposes. Spoken English focuses on improving everyday communication, fluency, and confidence in the language. NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) is an Australian-based certification test, especially for those aiming to gain community language points or work as interpreters.
  
  My interest in this field developed around nine years ago, when I first stepped into the world of teaching. Guiding young minds and helping them achieve their global dreams through language and communication skills gave me immense satisfaction. Over the years, seeing my students succeed-whether by securing their desired band scores, improving fluency, or gaining PR points-has only deepened my passion and commitment to this field.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  The biggest motivation behind my decision to become a teacher has always been my elder sister. She is an experienced and dedicated teacher herself, and growing up, I watched her not only educate but truly inspire her students. Her passion, patience, and the positive impact she made in so many lives left a lasting impression on me.
  
  Seeing the respect and admiration she earned as a mentor made me realise the power of teaching-and how fulfilling it is to guide others toward their goals. Her journey sparked my own interest, and over time, I found my own path in mentoring students in IELTS, Spoken English, and NAATI, helping them turn their aspirations into achievements.

• How does your work help society?

  My work plays a valuable role in society by empowering individuals with language skills that open doors to global opportunities. By teaching IELTS, Spoken English, and NAATI, I help students and professionals improve their communication abilities, meet immigration and study requirements, and build confidence to succeed abroad.
  
  This not only transforms their personal and professional lives but also contributes to society by creating more skilled, globally aware, and confident individuals who can bridge cultural gaps and contribute positively wherever they go.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  If I had to think of a role model for my work, it would definitely be my elder sister. She has been a constant source of inspiration throughout my teaching journey. Her dedication, patience, and the way she connects with her students have always impressed me.
  
  She not only teaches but truly mentors-helping her students grow both academically and personally. Watching her impact so many lives with such sincerity made me want to follow the same path. Her passion for teaching continues to motivate me to give my best to every student I guide.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside of teaching, I have a few hobbies that help me relax and stay energized. I love listening to music, which helps me unwind and refresh my mind. I also enjoy dancing, as it allows me to express myself creatively and stay active. Additionally, I have a passion for playing basketball, which keeps me physically fit and teaches me the value of teamwork and discipline.
  
  These hobbies bring balance to my life and keep me motivated both personally and professionally.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  Yes, there's one experience that has stayed with me throughout my teaching journey. A few years ago, I had a student who was extremely hesitant to speak in English and lacked confidence, especially during IELTS speaking sessions. She had failed the test twice before coming to me and was on the verge of giving up.
  
  With consistent practice, personalised guidance, and motivation, I helped her slowly build her fluency and belief in herself. A few months later, she not only cleared her IELTS with the required band score but also called me from the airport, thanking me just before boarding her flight to study abroad.
  
  Moments like these remind me why I chose this profession-they make all the effort worth it. Seeing my students achieve their dreams is the most rewarding part of my work.
