About Isla

I’m a French tutor with over four years of teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Bilingual Education with a French focus in applied linguistics. My lessons are designed for today’s learners—I bring technology into every session to make French interactive and accessible. From virtual whiteboards for live grammar breakdowns to vocabulary apps for daily practice and speech recognition tools that fine-tune pronunciation, I make online learning dynamic and engaging. I believe every student learns differently, so my sessions are flexible and student-led. Whether you want to speed up your conversational skills, improve writing, or tackle grammar with confidence, we shape the lesson to your goals. I’ve taught students across time zones and cultures, and I love the energy that global learning brings. For remote learners, I remove barriers that make language learning feel distant. Every class is structured, but never rigid—I leave space for curiosity, exploration, and real conversation. After nearly a decade of teaching, I’ve seen how the right mix of guidance and technology can turn French into a language you *live* in, not just study. No matter where you are, I’ll help make learning French accessible, flexible, and fun.

About the lesson

My teaching approach to French is built on making the language feel natural, enjoyable, and practical. I focus on real-world communication, helping learners speak faster, respond confidently, and express themselves without hesitation. Grammar isn’t just rules—it becomes a tool for building clear, correct sentences that flow smoothly in conversation. I use interactive activities like sentence-building games, role-playing, and storytelling to improve both fluency and creativity. Students practice speaking at different speeds, so they can adjust naturally in everyday chats or formal settings. I also weave in vocabulary-building exercises and listening drills to sharpen understanding and quick thinking. My lessons are flexible, shaped by each student’s needs—whether they aim for academic excellence, better workplace communication, or stronger cultural connection. I support learners in overcoming language barriers step by step, making sure every milestone feels like a victory. For those starting fresh, I create a comfortable space to grow confidence. For advanced learners, I add layers of challenge that keep them moving forward. With over four years of experience, I’ve helped many students not only learn French but *feel* French in the way they speak, read, and write.
