About Dr Kirsten
I'm Kirsten, a junior doctor (FY1), who studied Medicine at Oxford University. I
I have been a tutor for 6 years, helping students internationally successfully apply to medical school, including Oxbridge and London Universities, aiding them through each stage of the application process. My ethos is a tutor is to develop a keen interest in further reading in Medicine and to develop their written and verbal communication skills to succeed with their personal statement and interviews.

Personal Statement Lessons:
- I can offer lessons on how to approach the personal statement, guiding students on how best to communicate and highlight their greatest achievements to hit essential criteria universities are looking for
- I encourage students to reflect on their experiences in order to display how work experience has increased their drive for medicine and developed them as a future doctor
Personal Statement Feedback Service:
- I can offer a thorough Personal Statement review with line-by-line feedback to help with develop the student's content in order to improve structure, grammar and flow of the personal statement.
- I encourage student's to send me their CV/portfolio, so we can extract the most impressive experiences to boost their chances of success.
Medicine Interview Preparation:
- I have over 6 years of experience, tutoring students through the interview process at almost every UK medical school.
- My lessons focus on multiple key areas: Motivation for Medicine, Medical Ethics, Data Interpretation and Communication Skills
- Each lesson will address background reading and theory on how best to approach each question. Followed by practice examples, and live time feedback
- I like to cover "typical" questions so students feel prepared. Also, I cover more creative, and topical questions that are up to date with how medical schools interview styles are changing
Mock Interviews
- I can provide mock interviews for a range of interview styles (panel, Multiple Mini Interviews and Oxbridge).
- Lessons are structured as 20 minutes uninterrupted simulated interview, with 10 minutes of detailed feedback question by question
- Questions are as realistic as possible based on my own experience and working with a range of students prior. A realistic interview is really important to me, as they help eliminate student's nerves on the day as it should feel familiar
- I have plenty of content to offer multiple mock interviews to get students thoroughly prepare
