About Miriam
Hi! My name is Miriam and I am a business professional with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in International Relations from the University of Southern California.
My previous work experiences include:
- Consultant at West Monroe Partners (NYC)
- Co-founder of an online tutoring start-up (CreativePOP)
- Marketing & Public Relations intern at various firms
I have lived for 10 years in the U.S. and 10 years in South Korea, and have taught multiple Korean students English before I created a tutoring business myself. I know the ins and outs of what it means to be a good teacher. My teaching style is one of guiding the student to arrive to the correct answer rather than boring the student with hours of lecturing. I am genuinely interested in understanding your thought process and helping you become the expert, so that one day you won't need me anymore. ;)

I teach English as a second language to all age ranges, from kindergarteners (or younger) to adults! We can focus on your reading, writing, speaking, vocabulary, or whatever you want to improve on. I'm flexible, conversational, and will work with you to create a curriculum that you're satisfied with (or provide you with a curriculum if that is your preference).

If you are preparing for TOEFL or TOEFL Junior, I got your back. I won't only teach you how to answer the questions correctly; I'll teach you how to stay calm and confident in your test-taking abilities. I know how stressful it can be!
If you want help with another exam, I'll learn the ins and outs and teach it to you. I have extensive experience in standardized test taking and teaching.
