About Olivia
I am currently studying French and Portuguese at the University of Manchester. I also do a module in Italian to further the skills I developed in secondary education. I have always gravitated towards language learning as a way of understanding the world around me as it facilitates cultural exchange and understanding. In university, we learn the language through culture, history and politics, to provide a holistic comprehension of the subject, about which I have grown passionate. I'd love to share this passion with prospective students and help you discover the joy of language learning!

I focus on improving exam technique and confidence in oral and written expression, and can adapt to any learning style. I am a supportive, friendly tutor who will help to make language learning more of an enjoyable experience! Students often find learning a new language overwhelming or intimidating, yet I aim to deliver interactive lessons so that we make great progress together and, most importantly, we have fun doing it! Language learning is a wonderful thing and it shouldn’t have to feel like a chore just to pass an exam. I offer all levels of tutoring, from KS1 to A-Level. Alternatively, I can do lessons for those wanting to learn as a hobby, working around your schedule.

Olivia tutored me during my french GCSE and her teaching style is incomparable. She not only taught me basic structure and vocabulary but she made me feel confident in my own skills. She also taught me idioms and small complex french phrases that were the tipping point of me getting a 9 on my french gcse (May I add I was working at a 5 and failing all my vocab tests before she started tutoring me) 10/10 would recommend

Olivia really helped me during my french GCSE. She was patient and kind and was able to explain to me the complexities of french grammar in a clear and understandable way. She also had me feel at ease and I was never worried to ask her a question because I knew she would always explain things as much as I needed . Another thing I enjoyed was how as well as learning about grammar and spelling Olivia would bring in aspects of french culture into our lessons which allowed me to absorb the language even better. I would definitely recommend Olivia for anyone who needs help in learning french.
