About Kaitlyn
Hi! My name is Kaitlyn, and I am a 4th year student at Brock University, in the Concurrent Education program. I specialize in French, Geography, and Social Sciences, which reflect my interests and passions!
I have experience tutoring and supporting students of all ages. Throughout high school I was a grade 10 academic math tutor, helping peers build confidence and improve their understanding of challenging concepts.
I also completed multiple co-op placements in elementary schools. During my co-op experience I worked with kids anywhere from Kindergarten to grade 6, in a variety of subjects such as literacy, math, music, and social studies. These co-ops gave me invaluable experiences that I have carried with me ever since. I had the opportunity to build my problem-solving skills, organization, and behavior management techniques, while learning how to adapt lessons to a variety of learning styles, skills I certainly bring into tutoring.

I understand that every student learns differently, and sometimes it can be hard to absorb information in a traditional classroom setting. When I was a student, I often struggled to get the right academic support because of this. My goal as a tutor is to help students learn by engaging them through differential instruction, and build on their critical thinking skills. Teaching has been a passion of mine since a young age, and I aim to make learning engaging, interactive, and meaningful, so that students gain the confidence and enjoy the process!

Having grown up with Kaitlyn for over 15 years and being one of her closest friends, I can say she is a motivated, hardworking, dedicated, responsible, and very organized individual. She has helped me in many ways over the years and is always supporting me with her best abilities. I would always struggle in school, and from helping me with my homework when we were in elementary and high school and being very patient, kinds and understanding with me, to being there for me after my dad passed, she has always put her best efforts into anything she does and loves helping others. I believe she would make an amazing tutor to anyone of any age, and I hope she gets the opportunity to aid others in their educational journey.
