About Richard
I have taught science in secondary schools for 25 years and privately tutored students for 20 years. I have a PhD in biochemistry and degree in biology. I am passionate about science since I realise its importance and use it daily in everyday life. I am 50 years old, married and have 2 children aged 13 and 14. I keep fit by going to the gym, love hiking and music, and I also keep bees.

I am passionate about science and teaching the subject. I try to make my teaching relevant to students and the learning fun although always purposeful. I listen to the student’s needs and tailor my lessons accordingly to ensure they make good progress. I have access to numerous resources including presentations, worksheets, exam papers and scientific equipment for practical investigations. I offer both online lessons or if local tutoring in person.
