About Uriel Matan
I'm Uriel Matan, a math tutor and a recent highschool graduate. Since my first ever math contest at the age of 9, I have been amazed by the art of finding solutions for math problems. Through my time in school, I have been disappointed by the many gaps left in the mathematical curriculum leaving many students, including my younger self, baffled as to where many of the formulas come from, how else they can be used, and their real world applications.
As your tutor, I don't just want you to learn how to recognize when to use a formula on a test, but to comprehend its purpose. This last step will turn you from a good student, to a great student.

Mathematics is more than just solving equations and computing solutions, it's about understanding the application of the theory.
As a math tutor, I help the students discover this by driving with the students step by step the formulas, explain the usage and then demonstrate.
What sets me apart is how I provide math problems using the concepts taught with a different approach and then ask the students to solve and explain to me their thinking to properly ensure their comprehension, rather than simply memorizing a formula and recognizing patters; something which many teachers and tutors fail to do.
