About Sam
I'm Sam, a guitarist in London. I play lead guitar in a five-piece rock band and have played about 20 gigs, mostly around London, so my lessons are practical: the things that actually work in a rehearsal room and on stage, not exam pieces.
I teach adults only, beginners and improvers. Whether you've never held a guitar or you've been stuck on the same few chords for years, we'll get you playing the music you love and enjoying it.

Lessons are for adults (18+), from complete beginners to players who feel stuck. Electric or acoustic, with a focus on indie, rock and alt.
We work on songs you actually want to play: rhythm and lead, tidy technique, writing your own riffs, and playing in a band or with friends. Lessons are relaxed, run at your pace, and there are no exams.
Your first lesson starts with a chat about what you want to play and what you can already do. Then I check how you hold and tune the guitar, and we get you playing a real song or riff in the first hour. If you already play, I'll hear something you know and show you what to tighten up first.
Every lesson ends with a short practice plan, so you know exactly what to work on before we meet again.
Lessons are 30 or 60 minutes, online by Zoom or FaceTime, or in person at your home in west London. Times are flexible, evenings and weekends, so tell me what suits you.
