About Nicole
My name is Nicole and I am a recent graduate from Berklee College of Music. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music with a focus in songwriting and voice as my primary instrument. During my time at Berklee, I have had the pleasure of studying with some of the greats, including the widely acclaimed songwriter Pat Pattison, author of Writing Better Lyrics, which has been praised by the legendary singer/songwriter and Grammy winner John Mayer. I am originally from Vancouver, Canada and I am now living and working as an independent singer/songwriter in LA. I specialize in rock and pop styles, and my philosophy is to create a welcoming and comfortable environment free of stress and anxiety for all my students. I believe the best results come from a genuine love of music and desire to learn.

I believe learning music should be fun, and students should be encouraged to explore their love of music organically. This is why I take a relaxed, judgement free approach to all my students. Especially with songwriting, we're often bearing our soul onto a piece of paper, so I believe it's important for our writing environment to be as stress free and productive as possible. I will teach you about song structure, arranging, chord progressions, melody and lyric writing, and help you learn new tools and techniques to help get your creative juices flowing. Being a recent graduate from Berklee's songwriting program, I have so much knowledge that I would love to share and help you improve as a writer. No matter what your level and experience is at, there is always something new to learn. Some theory knowledge and/or instrumental proficiency is preferred, but not required.
