About Amelia
Ever since I started studying Spanish at age 11, I felt an immediate connection with the language, as I found it truly enjoyable. However, as a native English speaker I understand the difficulties students encounter when learning Spanish as a foreign language. I studied the language, as well as Spanish and Latin American culture and literature more in depth in university, and was able to appreciate its nuances and its difference to the English language. Additionally, living in Madrid gave me the confidence to communicate clearly in Spanish in an amazing city, and develop my language skills to become a more natural speaker. Spanish is a beautiful language, spoken in some of the most amazing places in the world, and I bring this passion to my teaching.

I take great inspiration from the teachers who inspired me to study Spanish in school. I am interested in all aspects of the language, and believe that each student has their own learning style which I am happy to explore. Personally, I found listening to Spanish music and reading online newspapers such as EL PAÍS the most effective as this made learning more enjoyable. Overall it is important to cater tutoring lessons to the individual to make learning engaging!
