About Jasmine
My name is Jasmine R. Broadnax. I’m Ms.Broadnax when referenced by you as students. I’m new to teaching. I spent most of my life in administration and secretarial work while building a resume full of experiences that include building computers at Google, creating websites for Google, selling online ads that reach the very top of the Google search engine when in need of hvac, plumbing, electricians and locksmiths. I was the 5th salesman of multibillion dollar homes in 2017 at rocket mortgage, and I’m one of the top cold-callers in the country. My organizational skills allow me to multi task from html coding, to inbound calls from physicians to data input at privately owned centers for women located in rural suburban areas in allendale MI. My love for teaching comes from the love I have for school. I’ve been a straight A student from kindergarten all the way till Highschool, then I graduated top of my Major in 2016 with a bachelors of science in WGS. I’ve worked with troubled youth for several months and realized that even though the pay was good that it wasn’t for me. Vista Maria gave me a look at what I didn’t want in an employer, a team of coworkers and day to day work. The hours were given but to have to sit and restrict bathroom times, shower times and be the one to administer medication for girls at such a young age gave me grief, nightmares and stomachaches. My case load was always completed on time, I gave extra calls to families and sped up the process with the help of colleagues with higher credentials. To get the gang of girls back to there parent or guardian took the teaching of basic reading skills, hygiene practices and respect of one’s self. All the girls suffered from suicide, teen pregnancy and severe mental health issues.I was left alone with too many girls often which broke the camels back and caused me to take a permanent break. I will say the experience gave me a spiritual awakening and made my decision to push forward and teach in a school that much confirmed. I’ve been a private tutor for many years. My expertise is research, hand written math, reading and 3D art. I was paid very well and the experience is always worth it. My first teaching experience was at Bradford Academy, great school. Amazing children and great pay. I suffered a traumatic death in the family and it took a toll on my emotional state. I came to work everyday though with a new outfit, positive attitude and eagerness to advance the minds of 30 11 -13 year olds. My grading curve is 80% and higher. The children were prepared in every way except technology. The boys had the highest math and science scores. There previous instructor was phenomenal. A well seasoned woman who is amazing at gifted programs for STEM. I had an amazing time teaching and loved my hiring supervisor Farmer. Great guy, always came to work dressed fresh and could depend on me. From then on with the removal of a school bully, teaching each child the cognitive que of “im stepping in with out her” and the emotional brilliance of grabbing a child to protect a village mindset gave me the familiarity of teaching and educating at several schools around the state of Michigan. I’m excited to be in academia and eager to give all my freshness, boldness and uniqueness to all things students. Go Learning!
