About Aileen
Hi everyone! I am Aileen Macay, and I am so excited to be your Tagalog teacher. I know that learning a new language can feel a little scary at first. I want you to know this is a safe, friendly space where it is totally okay to make mistakes. We learn best by trying! When I am not teaching, I love singing, reading, and hiking. You’ll see me using a lot of gestures and actions, which is a method called TPR (Total Physical Response). Basically, it means we use our bodies and movement to help our brains connect with new words and ideas.
Learning a language works best when you’re relaxed, laughing, and actively involved. So, expect plenty of energy, plenty of smiles, and a lot of fun as we learn together. Let’s get started!
