About Daniel
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and currently work as a software engineer in the finance industry. My interest in programming started early through video games, wanting to understand how they worked, and eventually realizing I could create my own worlds, characters, and systems through code. That early curiosity is what led me into computer science.
I am new to formal tutoring, but I have experience mentoring and tutoring younger students through programs in high school, where I occasionally helped others understand foundational concepts. I understand what it’s like to struggle with programming at the beginning, and I bring that perspective into how I teach.
My focus is on foundational programming concepts and data structures, not advanced level coursework. I aim to meet students where they are, break down complex topics into simple steps, and adapt my approach to each individual’s needs. Because I am building my tutoring experience, I am especially committed to working hard, being patient, and doing everything I can to help each student succeed and gain confidence.

I am a new tutor focused on foundational computer science topics, including programming fundamentals and data structures. I do not currently teach advanced level courses. My approach is highly personalized, I work closely with each student to understand their specific challenges and learning goals, then break concepts down into clear, manageable steps that build confidence and understanding.
