About Charles

Hi there, I'm Charles, and I'm excited to be your computer science tutor! With a bachelor's degree in business (finance) and computer and information sciences (software development) from Auckland University of Technology (AUT), I'm confident that I have the academic background and technical expertise to help you excel in computer science. I used to be the 2022 President of the AUT Computer Science Club because I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge and skills with others. Currently, I work as a software engineer for a vet-tech company, giving me ongoing experience with real-world software development projects. My professional experience, combined with my academic background, makes me uniquely qualified to teach computer science to students of all ages and experience levels. As your tutor, I'm committed to providing you with high-quality instruction that is tailored to your individual needs and learning style. With my help, I'm confident that you can master the skills and knowledge needed to excel in computer science. Let's get started on this exciting journey together!

Excellent! Charles is kind, patient and helped me get a good grasp and understanding of JavaScript concepts I was struggling with. He helped me with a few assignments I was struggling on. Highly recommend.

Charles's response
Katie has a good attitude towards, and required help with two different tasks, involving JavaScript, Handlebars and some PHP. Considering this is her third week programming, she's grasped some complex topics fairly quickly.

As feedback from this lesson, Katie could work on improving her computer science fundamentals, such as arrays, objects and refactoring.
