About Marco

Hi! My name is Marco, I am a Mechanical Engineering student and I consider mathematics and physics fundamental to understand the world around us and to solve complex problems.

During my university career I have dealt with topics such as mathematical analysis, classical mechanics, thermodynamics, solid mechanics, fluid dynamics and system control. These topics, although complex, have allowed me to develop a logical and analytical thinking that helps me not only in my field, but also in everyday life. My academic experience has allowed me to refine not only theoretical knowledge, but also the ability to apply complex concepts to real problems, which is one of the aspects that I try to convey to my students.

As a Mechanical Engineering student, I know how difficult some topics can be, but at the same time I know that, with the right approach and a good study methodology, it is possible to overcome any difficulty. My experience has taught me that the important thing is not to give up, to understand the concepts thoroughly and to face each problem with determination and curiosity.

When I teach, I always try to convey this approach, making the student feel capable of understanding even the most complex topics. It is not uncommon for mathematical and physical concepts to seem difficult, but with a little practice and a step-by-step explanation, everything becomes much clearer and more understandable. During repetitions, my main goal is to guide you without ever making you feel in difficulty, but on the contrary to make you feel like you can solve any exercise, one step at a time.

In each lesson, I always start with an analysis of your strengths and the areas where you have the most difficulty, to then build a learning path that helps you fill the gaps, improve your problem-solving skills and increase your self-esteem in scientific subjects. I firmly believe that self-confidence is the key to success and that every student, with the right support, can achieve extraordinary results.

My college experience has also given me a solid preparation in dealing with challenging exams and complex problems, which are very similar to those you might encounter in your private lessons. I can therefore share with you not only the solutions to the problems, but also the most effective study strategies, which have allowed me to successfully deal with the difficulties.

In short, my commitment in tutoring is to help you build a solid theoretical base, but also to develop the ability to apply what you learn, improving your confidence in mathematics and physics and facing every challenge together with serenity. Know that you are never alone in your study path: I will always be here to guide and support you, trying to make you reach your goals with calm, determination and, above all, confidence in your abilities!

My teaching approach for math and physics tutoring is centered on adaptability and deep understanding of concepts, rather than simple memorization. The main idea is to make the student the protagonist of his learning, encouraging him to reason and solve problems independently. The techniques I use are based on:

Active and participatory learning:

I ask thought-provoking questions and encourage the student to explain concepts in their own words, in order to foster a deep understanding.
I use the "Socratic" method of dialogue, where answers are guided by questions that push the student to reflect and find solutions actively.

Simplification and graduality:

I always start with simpler concepts, making sure they are well understood, and then build on them by gradually increasing the difficulty.
Repetition and reinforcement of previous concepts are essential to building a solid knowledge base.

Visual methodology:

Whenever possible, I use diagrams, graphs, and visual representations to explain complex concepts, such as those in physics or geometry in mathematics.
I try to make visible the connections between theory and practical applications, to help the student visualize the "why" behind the concepts.

Practical and application problems:

The lessons include numerous practical exercises and problems, to allow the student to apply what he has learned in real-world situations.
Varying the type of problems is useful for developing critical thinking, dealing with new and less structured situations.
Real-time feedback and correction:

I correct mistakes during the practical exercise, always giving explanations on where the student went wrong and how to fix it, without judging but trying to make the mistake an opportunity for growth.
Open questions, suggestions and continuous correction help to overcome difficulties in a constructive way.

Conducting a Typical Lesson

A typical lesson lasts about an hour, but the time may vary depending on the needs of the student. A lesson could be structured as follows:

Introduction (5-10 minutes):

I briefly review the main concepts covered in the previous lesson.
I ask a warm-up question to stimulate the student's mind and understand any gaps.
I review the lesson objective, making sure the student understands where they are going and what skill they will gain upon completion.

Theory presentation (15-20 minutes):

I present new concepts clearly and concisely.
I use simple examples to introduce the theory and then show how to apply it in more complex contexts.
I try to involve the student during the presentation, asking for his opinion or asking him to predict what would happen in certain situations.

Practical exercises (20-25 minutes):

The student does some exercises that put into practice the concepts just explained.
During the exercise, I intervene if necessary to correct the approach and to help the student resolve difficulties.
Final reflection and clarifications (5-10 minutes):

I give a quick summary of the lesson and review the more complex concepts.
I ask the student if there are any unclear points or persistent difficulties.
I provide advice on how to approach individual study or resolve any doubts before the next lesson.
Teaching Specifics

Adaptation to the student's level:

Each lesson is customized to the student's level: from beginners to advanced learners, whether the student is in middle school or high school, concepts are explained in a concrete way, using examples from everyday life to facilitate understanding.

Flexibility in methods:

I adapt the approach according to the type of student: whether they need more practical support or whether they prefer a more theoretical approach.
If I have specific challenges, such as time management or particular techniques (e.g. integrals or mechanics problems), I focus more on the resolution strategy and building trust.

Integration of theory and practice:

In physics, I try to explain concepts through thought experiments or visual demonstrations, e.g. with online simulations, to strengthen the connection between physical laws and observable phenomena.
In mathematics, the focus is on solving exercises, but always taking into account the mathematical principles underlying the solutions.

Who are the lessons for?

The lessons are intended for a broad spectrum of students:

Middle School (11-13 years): Teaching the basics of algebra, geometry and arithmetic, with a focus on developing a solid study method and deepening the fundamental concepts.

High School (14-19 years): Classes may cover more complex topics such as trigonometry, advanced algebra, analysis, physics (mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism), discrete mathematics, etc.

Conclusion
My main goal in tutoring math and physics is to help the student develop not only technical skills, but also the ability to think critically and independently. I believe that every student has the potential to excel in these subjects, and my role is to guide them in this process, adapting the teaching to their needs and pace.
