About Samirbek

An open-minded individual with a proven track record of successfully adapting across international academic and professional environments. A curious engineering mind eager to explore diverse fields, from machine learning to energy power systems, with a clear goal: advancing space and rocket engineering. In summary: Samirbek Rashidov. Samirbek Rashidov is an engineering student at the University of Edinburgh, ranked among the top 20 universities globally. Born in a developing country where mathematics and physics are considered essential subjects from childhood, I have a strong passion for these fields, winning multiple international and local competitions such as StemCo, Smart Kangaroo, and SASMO. Samirbek excelled in the IB Diploma Programme, achieving outstanding grades of 6/7 (equivalent to an A in UK grading) in Mathematics and Physics. With over two years of tutoring experience, I teach both personal and group sessions for IB, GCSE and A-Level students. Having studied in schools with syllabi similar to Russian and Singaporean education before transitioning to the IB system, I am open-minded to diverse teaching styles and cultural backgrounds. Being recognised for patient, discussion-oriented approach to addressing students' difficulties, I ensured an engaging and supportive learning environment. Many of my students have expressed satisfaction with his teaching style.

Discover the joy of mastering maths and physics! With over two years of tutoring experience and a unique, engaging approach, I’m here to make complex concepts simple and help you achieve your academic goals with confidence. My Approach to Tutoring and Teaching Classes: 1. Techniques and Teaching Methodology I adopt a discussion-oriented and student-centred teaching methodology. My primary aim is to foster a deep understanding of concepts rather than just focusing on rote memorisation or quick fixes. Here are some key elements of my approach: - Diagnostic Teaching: I begin by identifying the student's current understanding and any challenges they face in the subject matter. - Step-by-Step Guidance: I break down complex topics into manageable segments and use real-life examples or visual aids to simplify abstract concepts. - Interactive Problem-Solving: During lessons, I encourage students to solve problems themselves, providing hints and guidance only when needed. This promotes independent thinking and builds confidence. - Addressing Struggles: When a student finds a topic difficult, we engage in a thoughtful discussion to pinpoint the issue. Together, we explore alternative explanations or perspectives until the concept is clear. - Continuous Feedback: I regularly assess progress and adapt my teaching style to suit the student's evolving needs. 2. Typical Length of a Lesson A standard lesson lasts 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student's focus and the topic's complexity. This duration strikes a balance between maintaining concentration and covering substantial material. 3. Qualifications and Experience as a Tutor Academic Excellence: As a student at the University of Edinburgh, ranked among the top 20 universities globally, I bring a strong academic foundation in mathematics and physics. Competitive Success: I have won numerous international and local competitions in mathematics and physics, which has honed my problem-solving skills and deepened my subject knowledge. Tutoring Experience: I have over two years of tutoring experience, starting during my IB Diploma Programme (DP). I supported school teachers by tutoring and advising students preparing for Olympiads. Diverse Teaching Settings: I have taught both personal and group sessions, helping students with varying abilities and learning styles. 4. Target Audience for Lessons My lessons are designed for students from GCSE and A-Level students/ IB students (approximately ages 14 to 19), focusing on: - Mathematics (algebra, geometry, calculus, etc.) - Physics (mechanics, electromagnetism, etc.) - Students preparing for Olympiads, IB exams, or other competitive tests My ultimate goal is not only to help students excel academically but also to ignite a passion for learning that they can carry forward in their educational journey.
