About Matthew
A dedicated, determined and enthusiastic Teacher of Business Studies; I have been teaching Business lessons now for the last seven years, and having taught A-Level, AS, GCSE and BTEC level 2 & 3 at state school level, I am now hungry and passionate to transfer my knowledge to the area of private tuition. In terms of my latest examination results, 96% of my students from a cohort of 47 students, passed their Unit 2 examination on 'Finance for Business', with over 60% of these students either meeting or exceeding their target grade. My most prolific accomplishment in terms of results is achieving a 100% pass rate from students undertaking A-Level Business Studies, at Ossett Academy in Wakefield. The most critical part of my current role at Leeds West Academy is preparing Year 11 students for their upcoming examination in their BTEC award course, "Enterprise", which is a strong area of my expertise.

My teaching philosophy is simply to allow every student to reach their full potential, regardless of their background or disposition. The predominant technique I utilise to allow students to reach this goal is differentiation; i.e. providing varied resources to students based on their target grade or level of ability. If I am honest, this is something that I have improved to greater effect over the last few academic years. As an organised and pragmatic individual, I also take great pride in planning my lessons and follow schemes of learning that are in line with each course to make sure that students receive first class education.
