About Carolyn
I am in my third year at Acadia University -HBSc in Biology with a Chemistry minor- and an experienced private tutor and teaching assistant. Currently, I am in the process of publishing a paper on the research I conducted while I worked at the Victoria General Hospital clinical microbiology lab.

My teaching methodology is not uniform, but fluid and tailored to each individual, as I believe everyone learns differently. Although, one thing I do stress to everyone, is to understand the "why" behind the material. First, I would request test outlines, previous tests, and specific topics, so I can review the material before the session to get a general idea of the expectations of the course. Then, during the sessions, I would like discuss with the student, their concerns and goals. Next, we would work together to review the material together, while I explain, in further detail, certain aspects. After, we would practice and work through problems together. Lastly, I generally leave the student with some practice questions and personalized strategies when they go into writing tests. Not only do I attempt to leave the student more knowledgeable on the subject, but teach them how to think and new ways to approach problems in the future.
