My methodology is to first go over the previous lessons the student has seen and understand their difficulty. I then explain them the theory using the best method suited for the student's learning capacities. I make sure that they understand and that they are comfortable to ask me questions. If needed, I give them extra exercises so they can practice and I can ensure their understanding.
