My approach to private tutoring is fun and interesting, and seeing my students produce high results is the goal. E.g. Algebra Classes start with explicit instructions, so I can create a proper foundation for the activities to come. By helping them understand the concept, to a point whereby I will draw basic objects as variables to help them differentiate between numbers and variables, e.g. x - 5 = 20 I will make the variable x as an apple, and they must separate the apple from numbers, so it will be easier to make number 5 go to the other side, RHS, and it will change to be a positive, so the variable x can remain in the LHS alone since fruits can't mix with numbers. The final answer will be x = 20 + 5 x = 25 I use concepts in math vocabulary, for example, subtracting as taking out or removing. And addition as putting more. After the student understands the whole concept, I give out questions as a test yourself, so they will apply all the methods and rules they learned. Then we do corrections and I thoroughly explain to correct their mistakes, also they will be given extra time to verbalize all their problems, so I can find a way to help them solve them, in case they pop out during an exam or test. After every lesson, I give homework for extra practice.
