About Marthelize
My name is Marthelize du Toit.
I moved from South Africa to Canada when I was very young, but have been speaking Afrikaans for the duration of my life. As well as learning new languages, I have a deep love for music, art, and writing.
Recently, I published my first novel, and I am working on different research papers concerning Psycholinguistics, the career I intend to chase after.
Languages are something I am truly passionate about, and it would be a joy to help others learn more about Afrikaans as a language, but also the history behind South Africa.

All my life, I have been studying languages. As of late, I am learning German as well as Russian and hope to take Italian as well.
I have been speaking Afrikaans my whole life fluently, and can read, write, and have proper conversations with grammatical accuracy.
Although Afrikaans is my first language, I have a high English comprehension, very good CRT and PRT marks in high school.
My love for languages allows me to meet new people and help those who want to learn languages as well.
Since I am a native Afrikaans speaker, lessons will start from the basics, slowly working our way up to reading, writing, and being able to speak Afrikaans.
I am offering to teach this class to anyone over the age of 13 years old, since learning a new language can be tricky when you are younger.
