About Lydia
I have a huge passion for Drama and Theatre studies and therefore particularly enjoy teaching Shakespeare and other drama scripts, though I do also enjoy almost all of the English literature set texts and those studied at KS3! Reading is one of my favourite hobbies. I started teaching English in 2019 and went on to teach Drama where I became Head of the Drama department in a fantastic secondary school. I very much enjoy helping students to realise their ambitions and explore what their skills and talents are - even when they don't feel confident in English or Drama lessons! I have lots of experience in developing curriculum schemes as well as working with students with SEND so I can offer a deeper insight into how subjects are taught and delivered in secondary schools and how to cater to the needs of individual students.

Our tutoring sessions will be structured according to your specific needs - whether that be exploring a singular topic in great detail over time (such as a set text like 'Macbeth' for example) or working on an extension of classroom learning to ensure thorough understanding and accurate completion of homework or exam revision. I aim to create a familiar and complementary addition to lessons in school to ensure cohesion and prevent misunderstandings. I like to remain conversational and relatively informal and encourage lots of questions from students! I want to work with you to find your own unique way of learning and aim to make learning more accessible overall.
