About Corto
I have been a student at the ENS for five years and I was accepted to the competitive national teaching examination (Agrégation) in History and Geography in 2017. After a scientific Baccalauréat (A-Levels), I did a CPGE (Three-year intensive program in preparation for the national competitive exam for entry to the École Normale Supérieure) in the Lycée du Parc (Lyon) with a specialisation in History-Geography.
Last year, I focused on teaching as a CPGE oral examiner, assistant professor in high school and teacher of FLE (French as a Foreign Language).
I now intend on specialising in Gender Studies (I'm a postgraduate student at the EHESS). I also give General Knowledge and Oral Expression classes for undergraduate students at the IUT d'Orsay.

I assume that one has to adapt to the student! Depending on their needs, the starting point may be an element of the program, specific methodological aspects or complete exercises taken in the annals or handed over by the teachers.
I think that in order to pass the exam, one must first grasp the interest; to be able to respond to the expectations and to anticipate the requirements. That's why I try to underline the real meaning of each exercise during lessons, to make sure that the student understands what they can take from academic exercises - and not just encourage recitation by-heart.

J'ai suivi des cours d'histoire-géo avec Corto pour préparer mon bac série S. Mes cours avec Corto étaient vraiment super, il était très patient et n'hésitait pas à user de pédagogies alternatives plus adaptées à ma façon de réfléchir. Résultat : j'ai eu mon bac, avec une super note en histoire-géo !
Outre son parcours impressionnant (on sent qu'il vient de l'ENS) et ses grandes qualités pédagogiques, Corto est très humain et particulièrement sensible aux questions sociales, ce qui avec le recul m'a certainement pas mal aidé dans le supérieur en me permettant de développer un esprit critique qui, je trouve, faisait parfois défaut aux cours du lycée.
Je vous recommande donc de suivre des cours avec lui si vous en avez besoin !
Corto m’a beaucoup aidé à progresser en histoire géo. Pédagogue et à l’écoute, il explique très bien les notions les plus difficiles. Un climat de confiance s’instaure très rapidement. Je recommande vivement Corto !
