About Joshua
I have a commitment to excellence in my teaching and desire to see you grow as a student. As someone who has learned fluency in a second language (Spanish) and is studying a third (French), I understand the struggles that you experience as language learners. My experience teaching a 2.5 month-long English class in Nicaragua with six hours of time in class each week and no curriculum to work off of has taught me work ethic, creativity, and adaptability in language teaching.

I will adapt to your needs as a learner and attempt to meet you where you are at, challenging you to reach the next level.
As a Spanish learner, it is imperative for you to be able to learn from a tutor who has expertise on the the topic gained from significant exposure to and study of the language.
Native speakers frequently assume that I am one of them, noting my nearly flawless accent, grammar, and rhythm when speaking the language, key elements for success. Without these, learners will commit a plethora of errors which can lead to a variety of undesired outcomes ranging from prejudice to confusion to offense. People are attracted to others that sound like them, and you can learn to do that with me.
I have had the blessing to travel to five different Latin American countries, spending a total of over five months, gaining real-life exposure to the language. As a former English teacher in Nicaragua, I have had the privilege to aid others in their language-learning journeys before and will look forward to seeing the places that you will go in this adventure.
