About Annelize
I am passionate about making Afrikaans more accessible to more people. I have an Honors degree in Afrikaans, and I have 6 years of experience teaching (homeschool) and tutoring this language. In my downtime, I like to write poetry in Afrikaans, do yoga and cook.

I specialize in Afrikaans FAL; Grade 4-12, so I have detailed knowledge and resources designed specifically for this group, including digital flashcards that I designed specifically to help First Additional Language learners succeed. I have experience working with AD(H)D, dyslexia, social anxiety and blindness. I do not consider unique needs as obstacles but as part of the diversity that makes human existence rich and meaningful. With my younger learners, I tend to work on vocabulary development, reading and writing skills the most and with my High School learners, we tend to focus on test-writing skills, comprehension, language and writing, depending, of course, on what they need. In a typical lesson with me, a learner has the opportunity to spend some time mastering vocabulary and comprehension with flashcards (including sentences and words), working through past papers or other language exercises or getting help with homework and assignments they're currently busy with in school. Whatever your Afrikaans FAL needs, I can find a way to help you.
