About Samantha
I am a Formulation Science Honours graduate who has a quality skillset in tutoring. I have also completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Botany. I have 3 years face to face and online tutoring in Mathematics, Life Sciences and English Home language experience and have worked as a Grammar corrector and transcriptionist for a year. I am willing to tutor my University majors as well.

My teaching style includes:
1. Questioning
The purpose of questioning is to get students actively involved in their learning by eliciting responses from them instead of giving them information.
2.The Socratic Method
This method is based upon a student’s current level of understanding of a subject. Questions progress from what the student knows, and progresses towards new ideas that I guide the student toward with directed questioning.
3. Drills
Drills are series of questions with a controlled response and only one right answer. This might be an effective strategy for a subject that requires a lot of memorization.
4. Alternation
My tutee and I alternate roles: Let your tutee tutor you. This is especially useful for a class that features essay exams, where a tutee will need to explain things in a thorough, coherent manner.
5. Application
I make sure my tutee can apply what they have learnt. For example, if you have been going over math problems, I let my tutee do a problem or two on their own.
