About Eric
I have a BM degree from the University of Cincinnati and a MM degree from the University of Miami. I am a former member of the Florida Philharmonic and have toured Europe performing with productions of Broadway shows. My most recent appointment, decades long at a major Florida University as horn instructor included an assignment to teach ear training. I have been exposed to classical music since I was a child, and performed such music through my adult life.

Theory and practice are connected through the auditory process. Knowledge of what is performed and what is written must be "heard" in order to be complete. Some of us are more naturally able to convert black marks on paper to sounds in our heads, or the reverse than others. Whatever the inherent ability, we are able to build on those skills with patience and practice.
