About Andrea
I love the ah-ha moment when it all clicks! My favourite question is "Why?" as I strongly believe that understanding the process is more important than memorising the statistics.
Once you can marry the basic principles of disease with the clinical presentation, medicine makes so much more sense.

I am an Australian medical graduate who was top of the class, achieving the Sophie Davis memorial prize and the Monash Medical Centre board of Management prize in 1992. I then went on to specialty training then moved to education when my children were young.
I have taught small group classes in patient-based learning for the last 15 years to year one and year two students.
In these classes, I help students understand how to integrate history and examination skills with basic sciences such as physiology, pharmacology, anatomy and pathophysiology to generate differential diagnoses and an understanding of medical conditions at a junior medical student level.
I also have 30 years experience in understanding OSCE exams (objectively structured clinical exams) for years 1-3. I have taken OSCEs as a medical student, obstetrician and high-risk subspecialist as well as writing them for undergraduates and training the Simulated patients. This gives me an unparalled understanding of how to approach them to get top marks.
I envision you will tell me the subject you wish to cover 3 days in advance so I can refresh any information that is required to teach this at the best of my ability.
