About Akos
Akos Biro had grown up on gothic, black metal and punk. He started to play the piano during his MSc Civil Engineering degree, immersed in Rachmaninov, Shostakovich, Bach, Fazil Say, some psytrance, dubstep, drum and bass and trip hop. Later he qualified (Royal Irish Academy of Music) as piano teacher and studied composition and music theory while listening mostly folk, klezmer, balkan, jazz, native American and spiritual Brazilian music.

I teach music theory, counterpint, harmony, songwritting, instrumentation, orchestration, using Sibelius, virtual instruments.
I have more than 15 years of teching experience, hundreds of succecful exams. All references available.
Kids and adults all levels are welcome. I had many adult students who started from 0 and wanted to understand music better for playing, songwritting, composing or even DJ-ing.

Akos is a wonderful piano teacher. I was/am a late starter. I started piano five years ago when I was 51 without prior piano lessons and I have finished ABRSM grade five and am getting ready for grade six with Akos. I hugely recommend him.

He explains everything clearly and really listens to what you want to achieve. Thanks to his guidance, I reached Grade 5 with Distinction, which I never thought possible. If you’re looking for a teacher who’s patient, inspiring, and genuinely passionate about music, I can’t recommend Akos enough.
Akos is an exceptional piano teacher with great pedagogical sense. His lessons are customized and enjoyable, and I always feel in a state of flow. He has taught me various styles and is always happy to help me learn songs I like. He also supported me with my RIAM and now with ABRSM exams, often with distinction.
