About Joanna
I’m a specialist reading and spelling tutor, helping children and teens (6–16) who struggle with literacy, including those with dyslexia, SEN, or long-term reading delays.
I use a structured, step-by-step approach to teach reading and spelling, focusing on:

Decodable reading practice
Multisyllable decoding strategies

My one-to-one reading and spelling lessons are structured, step-by-step, and tailored to each learner’s needs. Lessons are designed to help children and teens of all abilities, including those with dyslexia, SEN, autism, or long-term reading delays, make steady progress and build confidence.
During a typical lesson, we focus on:
Blending and segmenting sounds for accurate reading
Decodable reading practice to build fluency
Spelling and phoneme–grapheme connections
Multisyllable decoding strategies
Tailored activities to address your child’s specific strengths and challenges
Lessons are calm, structured, and supportive, ensuring students feel confident while learning. Sessions can be online or in-person in Suffolk, and I recommend weekly or twice-weekly lessons for best results.

Pricing & Packages
Session Lengths:
45 minutes – standard session (recommended for most learners) = £18.75
30 minutes – ideal for younger children or learners with short attention spans = £12.50
60 minutes – for older students or intensive sessions = £25
Hourly Rate:
£25 per hour (base rate)
Block Bookings:
5 lessons: 5% discount → £118.75 (equivalent to £23.75/hr)
10 lessons: 10% discount → £225 (equivalent to £22.50/hr)
Online or In-Person:
Online lessons: £25/hr
In-person lessons (Suffolk area): £25/hr, optional small travel fee if outside local area
Additional Notes:
Payment for block bookings is required upfront to secure your slot.
Sessions can be rescheduled with 24-hour notice where possible.
Regular weekly sessions are recommended for best progress.
