About Christian David
Salve! I learned Greek and Latin at the National University of Colombia. Over time, I realized that, in most universities, both languages are taught using a single traditional-grammatical method. For this reason, many students only know how to translate with a dictionary in hand and cannot understand the fundamental aspect of the text: its meaning. For Comprehensible Input, this course uses modern language teaching materials. Of course, we will translate in some cases, but we will prioritize other things, such as Greek and Latin production (yes, you will write and speak a little). The student will compose and read a long list of authors that fit their interests (personally, I love working with Horace, Virgil, Catullus, Sappho, Anacreon, Plato...). All in a gradual manner; to the extent possible, making the minimum effort on grammar and the greatest possible effort on immersion in these magnificent worlds. ➜ Unpublished reading material. ➜ Bilingual guide texts (Ancient Greek - Spanish / Latin - Spanish). ➜ Unpublished multimedia material. ➜ Diogenes program and complementary tools such as dictionaries, thesauruses, databases, etc.

As a philologist, translator, editor, and proofreader, I have extensive academic and editorial experience. I am familiar with effective methodologies for writing and the enjoyment of literature and languages. I completed the "Proofreading and Variations of the Spanish Language" program at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. I have led teaching projects for classical languages with private students of various ages and interests. I was a translator for Marat Magazine and an editor for Klean-Vet. I currently guide reading and writing programs and am part of a Byzantine Studies group at the University of Vienna.
