About Danielle
I have a Bachelor of Portuguese (Linguistics, Literature, and Cultural Studies) and a Masters of Literary Theory, both obtained in Brazil.
In Australia, I studied English for Academic Purposes at Curtin University (2016-2017) and CELTA (Certificate of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), a Cambridge University course offered at Lexis English.
I have been giving private lessons since 2012 to Brazilian and foreigners to help them gain confidence in their presentation skills and their writing of academic papers, thesis, and essays. I have also worked as an English Teacher in Brazil, teaching kids, teenagers, and adults.
In Perth, I have been working as an English as a Second Language Teacher at local English schools and have also been helping migrants and refugees to improve their English skills as a classroom volunteer for the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP North Tafe).

I can help you develop confidence, curiosity and understanding of Brazilian Portuguese Language and Culture. Suitable for absolute beginners to advanced. I am an experienced Portuguese and English as a Second Language Teacher, both in Brazil and Australia.
My students will have different intentions with the language: tourism, business, children born in Australia to a Brazilian mother/father, accent reduction for English-speakers. The first class will focus on identifying these intentions and your preferred learning style.
I'll make sure that classes are delivered in a coherent, dynamic and creative way. I am able to elaborate lessons that will focus on different aspects of the language (speaking, listening, reading and writing skills) as well as the different contexts of communication (casual, academic, business).

Perfect! Danielle is an amazing teacher and puts a lot of effort in preparing the classes and tailoring it to suit the student's needs and interests. Her classes are very engaging and helpful, and she explains a lot of complex concepts well. I'd highly recommend her for anyone who wants to learn Brazilian Portuguese!
- Lydia is a friendly and enthusiastic student. Her positive attitude to learning languages makes her a joy to teach. Lydia has sound listening and comprehension skills in Portuguese. When I first met Dani in Brazil in 2015, the first thing that stood out was her passion and proficiency for languages! I was in awe. We hit it off immediately and when I wanted to improve my portuguese to communicate better with my husband's family, I reached out to Dani for help. Dani was very patient and kind as she lead me through vocabulary, conjugations, and most importantly regional slang and expressions! Now, there is less chance of embarrassing misunderstandings with my in-laws!
I wholeheartedly recommend Dani for her commitment and care for helping others.Danielle is commited to her work and has a very good knowledge of English and Portuguese, from grammar and linguistics to what makes a language useful in a daily basis.
