About Lindsey
I am a classically trained flautist. I grew up in South Africa but have lived in the UK for over 10 years. I achieved my Masters in Music at the Royal Northern College of Music. I've played in orchestras including the Halle & Cape Philharmonic, and in venues including the Roya Albert and Bridgewater halls. I love passing on the joy of music, and I'm currently writing up a PhD in group improvisation at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

I have 15+ years' experience teaching flute, piano, keyboard, recorder & music theory to students from age 5 to 75, privately & in schools. I teach online and in-person. I regularly enter students for exams if they so wish. Self-expression and enjoyment are central to my music-making and teaching. My teaching style is gentle, fun-filled, and student-centred. I teach a broad range of styles including classical, folk, world, jazz, pop and improvisation.
