About Nerel Jean

Hi! I'm Nerel Jean, a Licensed Mechanical Engineer and experienced online Mathematics teacher with teaching experience at Brighterly, an online learning platform for children and students.

I believe that every student can learn Mathematics when the lesson is explained in a way that makes sense to them.

At Brighterly, I taught individualized Mathematics lessons and conducted demo lessons for prospective students. I was also ranked #1 in Paid & Demo Lesson Conversion Rate in January 2026—an achievement that reflects my ability to engage students, communicate clearly, and create a positive learning experience from the very first lesson.

My engineering background has given me a strong foundation in Mathematics, analytical thinking, and problem-solving. But as a teacher, my focus is much simpler:

I want your child to understand—not just memorize.

For parents
If your child currently says:

"I don't understand Math."

That's okay.

We don't have to fix everything in one lesson.

We'll start by finding where the difficulty begins, work through it step by step, and build from there.

I also believe that good tutoring isn't just about getting the correct answer. It's about helping a student develop the confidence to approach the next problem independently.

About the lesson

Does your child understand the lesson—or are they just memorizing the steps?

My lessons are designed to make Mathematics clear, understandable, and not intimidating. I adapt each lesson to the student's current level, learning pace, and specific needs.

What I can help your child with:
Elementary Mathematics
Middle School Mathematics
Algebra
Geometry
Trigonometry
Problem Solving
Mathematical Reasoning
Homework and assignments
Exam preparation
Strengthening fundamental math skills

If your child is struggling with a specific topic, feel free to tell me about it before the lesson so we can focus on what they need most.

How I teach:
Every student learns differently.

Some students need a concept explained visually. Others need several examples. Some simply need someone to slow down and explain why a particular step works.

That's why I adjust my teaching based on the student's level and needs.

During lessons, I:
✓ Break difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps
✓ Use examples to make abstract ideas easier to understand
✓ Ask questions to check whether the student truly understands
✓ Encourage students to explain their thinking
✓ Correct mistakes patiently and explain how to improve
✓ Adjust the pace according to the student's learning needs

I don't want students to be afraid of getting an answer wrong.

Mistakes are part of learning.

Why choose me?
Licensed Mechanical Engineer
Experienced Brighterly Mathematics Teacher
#1 in Brighterly Paid & Demo Lesson Conversion Rate — January 2026
Experienced online teacher
Strong analytical and mathematical background
Personalized, student-centered lessons
️ Patient and encouraging teaching approach

Let's make Math make sense.

Whether your child needs help catching up, preparing for an exam, improving their fundamentals, or simply becoming more confident in Mathematics, I'd be happy to help.

Book a lesson and let's find out what your child needs help with—and work on it together.
