About Jason C
Beginning in 1999 as a teacher of English and Drama for Middle and High School levels, I have watched thousands of my students walk across the graduation stage. My experience has led me from the US to the UAE, and I am extremely grateful for the insight that has given me in reaching students from all walks of life. I have also tutored nearly a hundred students over that time, and I am pleased to say they have all improved in ways that THEY can see.

Language is an Art -- not a Science. Creative expression, developing a unique voice, and being able to delve into the meaning of what is being read (or written!) is the crux of success. The mechanics and precision of any language will come with time and practice, and there's no way to rush that. My approach is based on students learning to invest in their work: to be excited and eager to express themselves. I am a huge proponent of cross-curricular education and teaching people to integrate their larger sphere of knowledge at all times.
Anyone can "teach to the test". It takes a true master of education to teach to ANY test. My students don't learn how to use language for one, particular goal. They learn how to use language to tackle any challenge they encounter and to continue growing. The only goal is a confident, independent, life-long learner.

Travel expenses apply only if distance / route is especially time consuming. I am more than happy to meet at the student's home or at a public location (library, coffee shop, etc.) if that is more convenient.
I charge on a session-by-session basis, payments to be made at the conclusion of each session.
