About Hugo

Studies
Hugo started his musical journey when he joined the piano studio of Luiz Cristovão at the age of 7.
At 8, he began his trombone career when he joined Banda de Música de Lóbios in Galicia, Spain.
At the age of 9, Hugo was accepted at Conservatório de Música do Porto where he studied Classical Trombone for seven years with Joaquim Oliveira.
In 2016, in his last high school year, Caldeira began his jazz studies with Paulo Perfeito.
At the age of 17, he enrolled ESMAE on a Bachelor Degree in Jazz Trombone.
In 2021, Hugo was accepted to the Masters of Music - Jazz Trombone degree at Manhattan School of Music with a merit scholarship.
Caldeira is currently on his last final Master's degree academic year at MSM.

As a musician, when I hear the word "music" the first thing that comes to my mind is Joy.
It doesn't matter what's your commitment level with music (you can see music as a hobby or you might want to pursuit a music career), but having fun while playing music will always get you one step closer to your musical goal.
In my trombone lessons, you'll be able to: work on your technique and sound, prepare repertoire, explore extended techniques, learn how to improvise or learn how to play in a brass section. You get to chose what you want to work on.
As for the theory lessons, we'll work on common structures and common harmonic cadences; be a proficient sight reader, learn how to read and learn how to interpret a chord symbol as well as analyze and understand chorales or jazz standards.
Lessons for all levels and ages.
