I like to prioritize building intuition and conceptual understanding over memorizing an approach to a problem. This way you can build the confidence to tackle any problem without making guesses, and actually understand what you are doing!
My typical style of teaching involves a mini-review session of the selected topic followed by working through examples and solving problems ranging across various difficulties. This is a flexible method that can be molded accordingly to your preference of learning. I usually tutor university students, but am not opposed to taking on high school students.
