About Dragos
Hello! I'm Dragos Gligor, a Romanian mathematics student at Babes-Bolyai University.
My journey with mathematics started in middle school and high-school, with the olympiad, where I got results I am still proud of. I have also studied more advanced mathematics during a few classes of the "Euler Circle" program. I also loved my experience during the Romanian Science festival, where I presented on spherical geometry and its differences with Euclidean geometry, using the flight paths of planes on a globe and a map to show the effect of curvature and other interesting oddities.
I love the light in a student's eyes as the last piece of the puzzle gets filled and suddenly the entire field falls into place and becomes understandable, maybe even trivial.

My pedagogical perspective is that intuition and rigor are not adversarial, but play off one another in a great way. As such, I will prioritize examples and how these generalize or give way to theory, and the reverse. I will also try to implement visual elements (e.g. graphs, diagrams, etc.) as much as possible as, when available, they are major tools for bolstering understanding.
My lessons will typically go like this. I will ask you if you have any questions, problems and topics that you'd want to focus on today, and if not I proceed with my prepared lesson.
I am extremely passionate about all sorts of mathematics and I think I am great at making the math not only seem logical, but the proofs seem as an inevitable consequence of our initial structure or idea. I am also no stranger to rigorous mathematics, and have been auditing graduate courses to quench my thirst for knowledge.
I am willing to offer lessons in Further maths and real analysis, linear and abstract algebra for university and sixth form students.
