About Oliver
I am a nineteen-year-old student at Durham University studying Maths and Physics. I choose to study Physics because of the sheer imaginative obscurity that comes with more complex areas of Physics such as Quantum Mechanics and Relativity. I then choose to include Maths due to how well the two subjects are paired. Maths can explain so much of Physics if you let it, giving you a real understanding of the subject. This will be one of my main approaches to teaching. I don't believe in memorising a bunch of formulae and equations but rather having that intuition that comes from a deep-rooted understanding.

My approach to tutoring is to let the students attempt as many questions as possible on their own giving hints whenever stuck. I believe this best develops a student problem-solving ability and can be very satisfying when things start to click - It personally worked very well for me. I can teach all ages up to A-level, having six months of experience through a voluntary tutoring website. Sessions will typically last about 1 hour, however, this can easily change depending on students preferences. As a final note, I feel that the fact that I did my A level and GCSEs not too long ago puts me in a great position to teach as all the tips and tricks are still fresh in my mind.
