About Julie
I am a Medical student and BSc psychology graduate at Cardiff University.
Maths and Further maths GCSE (A,A)
Biology GCSE (A*) and A level (A).
I am consistently revisiting my knowledge base of maths and biology throughout my Medical degree and am apt to teach Maths up to GCSE and Biology up to undergraduate level. I would also be able to tutor A level students and also adults looking to study psychology (degree level). I am an enthusiastic teacher and always enjoyed Maths at school, where I often taught my friends for exams. At the heart I am a core biology enthusiast whether that be in anatomy, neuroscience, cellular biology or botany! Having carried out my own research at university level, I have experience in applied statistics.
I have my own car so would be able to displace myself easily. I have had a full DBS check and have been trained in first response by the Welsh Ambulance Service.

I like to revisit topics to consolidate learning especially for maths where practice is required. Additionally I find practice exercises and exam questions help prepare students.
Whether you are looking for teaching style lessons on a given syllabus or whether you prefer to attend tutor sessions with questions on specific topics you are struggling with, I am very flexible and can adapt lessons to fit your goals and best learning style.
Whilst some students may benefit from lecture style approaches, others may benefit from anecdotes to aid their understanding. Growing up I struggled to retain complex concepts when I did not understand WHY. “Why does blood vessel dilation lower blood pressure?” I was lucky to have had some great teachers who would try to find another way of explaining and help me understand rather than simply telling me to accept and memorise.
