About Salma

I've been teaching/tutoring in some capacity for almost 9 years now (since I was in High School).

I love to teach, and believe there is nothing more satisfying than helping a student gain confidence in a subject that was previously scary and intimidating to them.

I don't believe anyone is inherently born "smart," - our ability to excel in academics has much more to do with our teachers and environmental factors than we give credit to.

I'm currently a third year medical student who just passed the USMLE Step 1 and COMLEX Level 1! Ask me about it!

I have taught and tutored for all the following subjects/standardized tests:

- Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2
- Precalculus, Calc 1
- Organic Chemistry
- Chem 1A/Inorganic Chemistry
- SAT Math
- MCAT
- Medical Student Exams (Year 1)

I have also helped students apply to colleges as well as helped edit personal statements for medical, dental, and nursing schools. If this is something you also need help in, please let me know!

I begin our sessions by understanding what your goals are: Is it to get an A in the class? To pass? Test Anxiety? My students set the agenda for our meetings and I'm always receptive to feedback on how to ensure we are reaching them.
