About Mandy
Hello! My name is Mandy. I am married with two sweet little boys. I am currently going to college for my teaching credential in Child Development and I love to paint in my spare time. Ever since I was a child I have loved painting and drawing. It has always been a hobby of mine. Over the years I have taken some art classes, but mostly I have acquired my skills through years of practice. I love to paint with acrylics mostly, but I also have experience in multiple other art mediums such as watercolor, pastel, charcoal, wood burning, etc. I love teaching and I love art so putting those skills together seemed like the perfect thing to do! I can't wait to work with you!

When I teach an art lesson, I start by first getting to know the students' interests, what skills he/she already possesses, and what the student is interested in learning more about. Next, I will plan my lesson geared towards helping each individual student obtain the skills and knowledge, as well as confidence for continued improvement. For example, with beginning art students I may start with simple brush strokes, composition, the color wheel, color mixing, etc. With more advanced students I may teach blending techniques, negative and positive space, depth, copying more complicated designs, etc. In any case, we will be painting wonderful pieces of art!
